Virtual Fair 2021 Recap
Thank you to all of you who joined us for the Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Virtual Career Fair 2021— an event organised by the Public Sector Science & Technology Policy and Plans Office (S&TPPO) in partnership with the Public Service Division (PSD).
We are happy to share insights from thought leaders and professionals in the Science, Technology and Engineering fields as they share the exciting projects that are changing what’s next for Singapore.
Opening Address
Mr Frederick Chew, Chief, Public Sector Science & Technology Policy & Plans Office, Prime Minister’s Office/CEO, A STAR opened the inaugural event with an address on why STE capabilities continue to be important for the Public Service and for Singapore.
We heard from thought leaders on how they push the boundaries of innovation to strengthen food resilience, develop world-class public housing and create a sustainable transport system of the future.
Keynote 1: Spice Up Your Life… with Food Science & Tech
Dr Hazel Khoo, Executive Director of Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) at ASTAR brought the passionate work of public sector food tech scientists to life through stories from SIFBI; giving us plenty of food for thought.
Keynote 2: Making a Difference in Public Housing Development through Technology
Dr Johnny Wong, Chief Technology Officer of MND and Group Director for HDB’s Building & Research Institute shared HDB’s journey in developing world-class public housing, while pushing the boundaries of Construction, Sustainability & Smart Towns.
Keynote 3: Technology in the Future of Urban Mobility in Singapore
Mr Lam Wee Shann, Chief Innovation and Transport Technology Officer at Land Transport Authority (LTA) discussed how technology like autonomous and electric vehicles solve urban mobility challenges and make land transport more connected, comfortable and sustainable.
